Why FP&A software is hard to design
Planning tools carry more on one screen than almost any other kind of software. Plans, actuals, scenarios and forecasts compete for the same space, and every number has to be trusted at a glance. A finance lead will not use a tool they cannot check.
The craft is in making that density legible without dumbing it down: clear structure for the model, fast ways to move between versions, and interfaces that show what changed and why.
What we design
- The model's interface. How dimensions, drivers and hierarchies are built, edited and read.
- Scenarios and versions. Comparing plans side by side, and moving between them without losing your place.
- Reports and dashboards. Views finance teams can share with executives who do not live in the tool.
- Imports and integrations. The unglamorous screens where data from ERPs and accounting tools comes in, and where trust is won or lost.
- Collaboration. Comments, approvals and ownership across finance and the business.
- The design system underneath, so the product stays consistent as it grows.
Our work in FP&A
How we work
We embed in your team, work in your tools and show you something real early. Engagements come in three shapes: a fixed-price sprint of four to six weeks on one goal (from $5,000), an embedded designer working with you every day (from $4,000 a month), or fractional design leadership (from $10,000 a month). Work usually begins within one to two weeks of signing.
FAQs
Do you only design FP&A software?
No. We work across financial planning, spend management, fintech, fraud and risk, and AI-native products. The common thread is product complexity, not one industry.
Do you work with finance teams or product teams?
With the product team that builds the software. We talk to finance users throughout, because the people who use the tool are the best source of what it should do.
Can you help if our product already exists?
Yes. Many projects start with an existing product: finding where users get stuck, then redesigning in stages so the product stays live.
How do we start?
Book a call with Ankit. If it is a fit, most engagements begin with a short fixed-price sprint.
